Honduran citizens living in the United States should verify voting eligibility, voter registration, polling locations, accepted identification, and overseas voting arrangements with Honduras’s electoral authority for each election. Rules and locations can vary by election. A consulate directory is not a list of polling sites.
Check official election information first
Use the National Electoral Council of Honduras (CNE) for official notices and ask whether voting from the United States is available for the specific election. Confirm registration status and the assigned location only through instructions published by the CNE or the authority it designates. The National Registry of Persons (RNP) handles identity and civil registry matters; contact it for current DNI information.
Questions to confirm before election day
- Are overseas voters eligible to participate in this election and which offices or ballot items are included?
- Must you register, update your address, or complete another step in advance?
- Where is your assigned polling place, and what are its date and hours?
- Which original identity document is accepted? Is a passport accepted if you do not have a DNI?
- Are any appointment or access arrangements required at the voting site?
Do not assume that a Honduran consulate is a voting center, that a passport substitutes for a DNI, or that proof of voting is needed for a separate immigration or consular procedure unless the responsible authority confirms it in writing.
Find Honduran consular offices
For identity documents or other consular services, use our Honduran consulate directory. Confirm services and appointments with the relevant office. Cita Consular Honduras is an independent information site and is not part of the Honduran government or the CNE.
Official sources
Check the CNE and RNP for current electoral and identity information. Election dates, rules, voter lists, and polling sites can change; use the notices for the specific election.
